Who can apply
After +2 you can apply for bachelor's programs; after a bachelor's degree you can apply for master's programs. Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) such as XAMK, Karelia, Centria and LAB have the most realistic requirements for Nepali students, and many accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate instead of IELTS.
Do you need IELTS?
Often, no. Many Finnish programs accept an MOI certificate proving your previous study was in English, or run their own entrance exam. Before you spend Rs. 30,000+ on a test booking, let us check whether your shortlist actually requires it.
Tuition, scholarships and living costs
Tuition for English-taught programs runs roughly €6,000–€18,000 per year. Most universities offer scholarships covering 50%, 75% or even 100% of fees for strong applicants. Budget around €700–€900 a month for living costs — cheaper in Joensuu, Kokkola or Tampere than Helsinki. You can work up to 30 hours a week during term.
Month-by-month timeline for January 2027
